THE CIRCLE
The winds whirl and spin around,
the forces unfurl and power abounds.
The Lord and Lady watch our rounds
as the circle sacred does us surround.
Four are the watchers at the corners there,
within this circle which is now square.
Fire, water, earth and air,
these are the things which they do bear.
We be now between the worlds,
space and time about us whorls,
as this smoke of incense curls,
in this place between the worlds.
NOTE: This poem is normally used in conjunction with the opening ceremonies. It may also be used alone when the need to open a circle is necessary and time is limited. In order to be done well, gesture and strong emotion should be used while reciting it. Above all, feel power pouring into you from above and then spreading out into the circle.
